Is the Maldives open to holiday makers despite coronavirus?
The Maldives remains a very safe destination for holiday-makers with all arrivals screened for symptoms of Covid-19 at the airport. Our resorts are stand-alone properties, on isolated islands, where all entry into and exit from the resorts are managed and monitored by the resort. The health of our guests is of utmost importance to us, and all our resorts have a medical clinic with an on-site doctor.
Are there any travel restrictions to the Maldives due to coronavirus?
There are no travel restrictions. However, a COVID-19 negative PCR test result with a sample taken 96 hours prior to departure to Maldives, counting from the first port of embarkation en-route to the Maldives, is required.

One child, under the age of 12, is eligible to stay in your room free of charge. (Please note that breakfast for the child(ren) will be charged at 50% of the adult rate.) At certain hotels, larger rooms are available which can accommodate 2 children. These rooms are normally in the superior or deluxe room category. You can mention this request at the time of booking.
WHERE IS THE MALDIVES?
The Maldives is a group of 1,200 coral islands that are located in the Indian Ocean to the south and southwest of India and Sri Lanka, respectively. It is about 4 hours flying time from Singapore on the east and 5 hours flying time from the Gulf region on the west.
WHAT KIND OF ELECTRICAL SOCKETS ARE PROVIDED IN THE ROOM?
The electricity is 220 Volts, 50 Hz. Electrical outlets accommodate standard UK style 3 flat pin plugs. Adapters may be purchased at the Holiday Souvenir Shop.

WILL I BE MET UPON ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE AT THE AIRPORT?
Yes, after clearing customs, exit into the arrivals hall. Our airport representative will meet and greet you then direct you to your ongoing transfer.
WHAT ARE THE CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES?
The check-in time at Paradise Island is 14:00 and the check-out time is 13:00. We will of course do our best to have a room available for you whenever you arrive. However, this can never be guaranteed and is dependent on the occupancy level the night before. If you are planning to arrive early then you may wish to book your room from the night before. If you are departing late, special rates are available for late check-out.
DO YOU HAVE MOSQUITO NETS IN THE ROOM?
No, because there are very few mosquitos. If you are particularly sensitive to mosquito bites then it is recommended to use a mosquito repellent which is available at the Souvenir Shop.
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT MALDIVES?
The best time to visit Maldives is during November to April when there are clear skies and it is dry. The visibility for diving is also high during this period. However, for surfers it is the opposite, since the south west monsoon brings in the best waves, with the largest waves occurring in July and August.
DO I NEED A VISA TO ENTER THE MALDIVES?
No, you do not need a prior visa to enter the Maldives. All travellers are given a 30-day visa upon arrival, subject to basic entry requirements by Maldives Immigration.
WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE?
The Maldives enjoys a warm, tropical climate cooled by a refreshing tropical breeze throughout the year. The average air temperature is 30 degrees Celsius (86 Degree Fahrenheit) and hardly changes. The average water temperature is 29 degrees Celsius (84 Degree Fahrenheit). There can be some infrequent light rain from May to November. Rain lasting more than an hour or two is rare so don't forget to always use sunscreen.
IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
Dress as you wish on the island. Paradise Island reflects the very casual atmosphere. In the bars, restaurants, and reception, women are requested to cover up over a bathing suit (top and bottom) and men to at least wear a T-shirt (not sleeveless) and Bermuda style shorts. Women and men visiting a local island should cover their shoulders and thighs and not wear anything transparent. Public nudity is prohibited.

Paradise Island accepts cash (Euro, GBP, US$ and MVR), credit (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro and UnionPay) or debit card. Travelers or personal checks are not accepted. Guests must charge all purchases to their room because payment is not made until check-out at reception. Flexible rate bookings also require credit card for payment guarantee, but are charged at the time of check-out.

Yes, beach towels are provided in your room at no charge for use at the beach.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE IN FITNESS CENTRE?
Gym outfit and gym shoes, not street shoes. Gym shoes are sneakers with "rubber" soles. Sandals, bare feet, and only socks are not permitted. Bathing suits are not permitted.
